why you need to plan a summer escape

If you haven't taken time off of work this summer, do it. It's time. Everyone needs to rest and get away from the hustle and bustle of the office and/or daily stress. Get together with your family. Go the beach. Eat a watermelon. Enjoy the simplest things in life like watching clouds move across the sky or the rustling sound leaves make with a summer breeze. Sit and do absolutely nothing without thinking about what happened yesterday or what you should do next.

The summer always makes me homesick for my childhood, when I would sit on the shores of Lake Michigan all day with my family. Looking back, life seemed so easy. But even then I had internal battles of not knowing how to deal with my sister bossing me around, or the desire to have more freedom. Wherever you are in life, the future seems much brighter or the past seemed so much simpler. Instead of looking back or ahead, sit still and enjoy the present moment. There is only ever this moment. Life is always NOW.

Enjoy the rest of your summer. Do the things you love with the people you love.
